Name:
Pancéřove/Pan
Gender:
Stallion
Age:
5
Coat:
Dark, earthy brown. Palm-sized chunks of keratin, appearing as clusters of stone, dot his coat, mostly on his back.
Mane and Tail:
Very dark brown, nearly black. Very thick mane and tail.
Other:
Pan’s genetics are derived from Clydesdales; has a blaze and socks. Stands at 16.3 hands.
Appearance:
Pancéřove retains a good deal of his appearance as a Clydesdale; he is, compared to some other horses, quite large. He has been graced with a substantial amount of muscle, which is well defined throughout his body. His dark mahogany coat constantly appears matte, due to dirt consistently peppering it. Dotted throughout his coat are large masses of what appear to be jagged stone, the largest and most concentrated on his back, and smaller and more spread out ones towards his belly. These bizarre features are in fact made of keratin, and could possibly be considered horns or nails, simply growing on the wrong part of his body; while they are tough, they are certainly not indestructible.
Pan’s mane and tail appear to be nearly black, but are in actuality a very dark brown. Both are quite thick, and are for the most part often at least somewhat tangled, but not incredibly so. Resting on his face is a white blaze, which holds quite a contrast to his dark eyes, which seem to always be somewhat weepy, a small hint to his below-average eyesight. On his legs, starting at the knees and ending at the hooves, is a great deal of feathers. Included with these are white socks, and very light, pale brown hooves.
Element:
Earth and Life
Personality:
Pan has been, for the past few years, quite a solitary horse. He does not speak too often, and when given the opportunity and the will to do so, his sentences are often short and concise. However, he occasionally may discuss certain topics openly; questions about himself being one of them, save certain questions of his past. While he is definitely of the “strong silent type”, this does not accurately depict the rest of Pan’s personality. He is actually quite full of himself, and often takes any opportunity to show off any abilities he has. While his speech is quiet, short, and to the point, his inner-thoughts are sarcastic, and what he likes to believe as witty.
These mannerisms of his are not to say he is rude or mean; these are quite far from the truth. Pan takes any opportunity that comes his way to help others, let it be helping lost horses find their way, or hungry ones to find grazing sites.
History:
Pan’s herd, which patrolled the areas around the base of the mountain range, was not the largest of the island’s herds. Numbering at about a dozen, Pan was the youngest for a good while. When he was born, he resembled a nearly pure-blood Clydesdale; his coat did not yet have “stones” peppering it. He was not a particularly interesting horse, which, of course, made him somewhat interesting; the rest of his herd was comprised of all the colors of the rainbow, while he was the color of the earth. He kept to himself mostly, due to this, even staying away from his mother when he had the chance. He was not inclined to being antisocial, per se, but merely wished to keep from being ostracized; he did not realize that by keeping himself as an outcast, he was doing just that.
Eventually, at the age of two, he had begun to develop hardened spots of skin on his body, which eventually became hairless and noticeable. By three years of age, the chitinous clumps were full grown. He was further ridiculed as an oddity, and cast out of the herd by his father the lead stallion, whom he had little connection with. For the past two years, he has been wandering aimlessly, for the most part in a cloud of depression. As of late, however, he has had an epiphany; why sulk over being removed from his old herd, when he could claim land, and create his own? He could be the lead stallion, and all other oddity-bearing horses would be welcome.
